Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla

The Ratzilla is an amazing cigar. Anyone that knows their smokes can’t argue with the tastiness and construction.

This particular Ratzilla was sent to me directly from Jonathan Drew – the founder and main man at Drew Estate. All I can say is his email said it was “one of his old Ratzillas” so I’m assuming this creature had a few solid years of age on it. I highly doubt JD will read this post but if he does, thank you once again.

The look of this cigar is classic Unico Serie darkness coupled with what appears to be flawless construction. Minimal veins and invisible seems. The dark wrapper is just impressive. This stick comes in at 6.25″ x 46.

First Third: Right away this thing starts to smoke like a chimney once you put a flame to it. For this smoke I am starting at home and walking to The Clayton to see the guys there and procure another smoke – hey it’s Friday!

The initial flavors are of coffee, espresso, chocolate, spice, and floral earth. It’s tasty even for the beginning. Ash hung on for the entire walk which is just about a mile – I had to knock it off as I entered the building.

This is a longer stick and at the end of the first third and into the second third the coffee, espresso chocolate and now cream come out to play. It’s a beautiful cigar and burning perfectly.

For the last third and down the flavors remain delicious. Entering the last third I started to get a bit of a strength rush so I took my time and milked it at a gentle pace. The strength dropped off pretty quickly and I continued forward. Overall time was about 2 hours.

Overall this is just a great cigar. Highly recommend especially if you like the Liga #9, UF-13 or T52. The cigar isn’t cheap and it’s not easy to find. Expect to pay about $16.00 a pop or slightly more if you do find some.

Per the DE Website (Click for More):

“The Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla, produced at La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate in Estelí, Nicaragua, features a Connecticut River Valley Stalk Cut & Cured Sun Grown Habano Wrapper, a Plantation Grown Brazilian Mata Fina Binder, and Nicaraguan and Honduran Fillers.

Jonathan Drew, speaking from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, stated: “We are excited that the Ratzilla is the first Drew Diplomat Retailer Holiday Seasonal Release. The Liga Privada Único Serie Ratzilla is the next logical progression in the Dirty Rat legacy.””
